Q.        Where is it?

A:           At Lakeside Golf Club, which is located at 4500 Lakeside Drive, Burbank, California 91505. Directions are here, and you’ll be happy to know that there will be ample valet parking available. You may also arrive via Uber.

Q.        What should i wear?

A:           This isn’t a costume party, but if you’re a lady, you could do worse than to dress in the elegant style of the iconic Audrey Hepburn. We will be indoors, so weather won’t be a factor. Lakeside is a denim-free, no-flip-flop zone, so be sure to be mindful of those ironclad rules. Gentlemen are requested to not wear hats and to wear collared shirts; if you’re a lady with a fabulous chapeau, this may be the day to wear it.

Q.        Where does the money go?

A:           Our annual Catwalk is the Assisteens’ only fundraiser, and each year, the proceeds go to one or more of the causes of the League. In 2016, over $12,000 was raised towards purchasing a new trailer for Operation School Bell, another great League program. This year, our goal is to raise $15,000 to fund the Prom Day Program, the Foster Children’s Resource Center, and the Christmas party we throw every year for the Preschool Learning Center.

Q.        I can’t make it! May I still donate to the cause?

A:           Of course, you may. Simply go to the online ticketing center and choose to donate instead. The amount is up to you – and we are very grateful for your support.

Q.        Who should come? Do I need to bring a teenage daughter?

A:           Family and friends of Assisteens and those who support our worthy causes are all welcome to join us. There’s no need to travel in mother/daughter pairs. You may come with a friend; or, if you’re solo, we’ll be sure to seat you with other friendly faces. And yes, if you’re a gentleman, you won’t be the only one there!

Q.        What’s the schedule?

A:           We know your time is precious, so we will be at Lakeside from 11:00 to 2:00 with lots to keep you busy. We will have great pop-up boutiques to shop from, an opportunity drawing with lots of goodies, and there may even be a photo booth. The shopping won’t be without purpose (not that there’s anything wrong with that) – our fabulous vendors are donating 20% of their sales to the League! The fashion show will end with the presentation of Assistance League service medallions to all the seniors from the Class of 2017.


A:           It will be lovely, darling! While you shop, nibble on cheeses and crudite, and slake your thirst with either a Moon River Lemonade or an age-appropriate Mimosa. When you RSVP, please choose between a Classic Grilled Cheese with Pommes Frites, or a Vine-ripened Tomato and Avocado Salad with Chicken. And life isn't complete without dessert. Of cuurse, you should let your server know about any food allergies.

Q.       How can my company be involved?

A:           This page outlines the opportunities we have for partnerships with companies for the 2017 Catwalk for a Cause. Q.        Is there a paper invitation? I don’t do online payments!

A:           Because we want all of the money we raise to go to the causes we support so dearly, and because we are environmentally conscious, we are trying our best to be paper free. However, we are happy to send this information to you in a letter. Just write us at with your address. You can also write all your information on paper for your donation or purchase, and choose to pay by check. You can find the donation levels and ticket prices here, or just choose an amount that works for you.
